🎄 December in Sullivan County: Holiday Cheer & Sweet Treats
As winter settles into the hills of the Sullivan Catskills, December brings with it twinkling lights, cozy holiday markets, and a spirit of community that makes this time of year feel truly magical. Whether you're visiting for a festive getaway or simply searching for a fun activity close to home, there’s plenty happening — from dazzling light displays to handmade markets and even cookie-decorating classes for all ages. Here’s your guide to some of the best events in Sullivan County this December.
✨ Highlights of December Events
Peace, Love & Lights at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts
The beloved holiday tradition returns Nov 28–Dec 28, 2025 with nightly light displays from 5–10 PM (last entry at 9 PM).
Drive through 1.7 miles of luminous displays — think glittering arches, candy-cane lanes, and a glowing forest — all from the comfort (and warmth) of your car.
Prefer to walk and take in the sights slowly? Mark your calendar for Sullivan 180 Walk‑Thru Mondays on Dec 1, 8, 15 & 22, 5–9 PM (last entry 7:30 PM). Admission is $12 for adults and free for kids 11 and under; bring a new unwrapped toy and adult admission could be free.
Holiday Market & Pop-Ups
On Saturday, Dec 6, enjoy a festive Holiday Market Pop-Up at Bethel Woods’ Market Shed from 12–9 PM — a great time to find unique, handmade gifts from local artisans.
The holiday shopping continues with another Pop-Up on Saturday, Dec 13.
For a more tucked-in market vibe, check out the Holiday Market at Liberty Mall in Liberty, NY (15 Sullivan Ave), taking place Dec 6 & 7. Expect local vendors, handmade goods, and seasonal charm.
🎭 Shows, Craft Nights & Family Fun
On Saturday, Dec 13, the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg hosts the Cozy Catskills Holiday Revue 2025 — a retro-style variety show filled with music and holiday cheer. Perfect for a family night out.
Feeling crafty? On Sunday, Dec 14, you can join a Craft & Sip Wreath-Making evening in the Bethel Woods Event Gallery — a relaxed way to get in the holiday spirit with friends or family.
🍰 Sweet & Creative Nights at Cuppie Cake Desserts
5.0•Bakery•Closed
A delightful addition to Sullivan County’s holiday offerings this year: the brand-new location of Cuppie Cake Desserts in Jeffersonville, NY (on Route 52).
Cuppie Cake is offering Holiday Cookie Decorating nights, a fun, social baking and decorating event! — perfect for a date night, girls’ night, or family outing. Guests get to decorate cookies, with all icings and tools provided.
If you plan to visit Jeffersonville this December, adding a Cuppie Cake decorating night could be the perfect end to a day of markets or lights — combining community, creativity, and holiday sweetness.
